ATBC Meetings
ATBC’s annual meetings bring together the global tropical biology community to share research, build partnerships, and spark new ideas. Each conference is a space for learning, connection, and celebrating the diversity of our field. On this page, you’ll find information about upcoming events and highlights from past meetings.
Under the theme “Achieving a Shared Ecological Civilization for Long-Term Resilience,” ATBC2026 will bring together scientists, students, conservation professionals, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and local communities from around the world. Together, we will explore recent advances in tropical biology and conservation, exchange transformative ideas, and emphasize the essential role of the tropics in building a resilient and sustainable future.
Hosted by the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), Chinese Academy of Sciences, ATBC2026 will take place at the heart of the Mekong River region, less than 200 km from Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam — a unique crossroads for dialogue on biodiversity conservation, regional cooperation, and science-based policy. XTBG’s experience in biodiversity research, ecological restoration, and public engagement makes it an ideal setting to inspire collaboration and showcase tangible conservation actions.
We warmly invite you to Xishuangbanna, where rich biodiversity, cultural heritage, and international collaboration come together to shape the future of tropical biology and conservation.
