The Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation (ATBC) officially formed its Neotropical chapter at the 2018 Annual meeting in Kuching, Malaysia. This chapter will complement the two active chapters of the organization (Asia-Pacific and Africa).

The goal of the chapter is to build an active cohort of stakeholders that will expand the reach and presence of ATBC in the Neotropical region. Based on extensive prior surveys and feedback from the ATBC community, there is a lot of interest in this chapter and several proposed activities and events have been suggested.
