A new scientific organization has just been launched, known as ALERT, the Alliance of Leading Environmental Scientists and Thinkers.
ALERT is designed specifically to aid leading scientists in their efforts to influence environmental decisions and policies, and to help them publicize their efforts. It will also publicize and disseminate findings from important environmental research. ALERT is directed by William Laurance (bill.laurance@jcu.edu.au), former ATBC president and distinguished research professor at James Cook University in Cairns, Australia.
