The Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications for the position of Director of its Tropical Conservation and Development (TCD) Program (uftcd.org).
The TCD Program bridges theory and practice to advance biodiversity conservation, sustainable resource use, and human well-being. With over 120 faculty affiliates, 80+ enrolled graduate students, and 550+ alumni worldwide, this is an internationally recognized program of training, research, and practice.
The Director will lead the program’s research and training activities, oversee a graduate certificate program, manage budget allocations from ~$6 million in endowments, secure extramural funding, and strengthen global partnerships. An appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor is anticipated. Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, or another language of the tropics is preferred.
