The Association for Tropical Biology & Conservation (ATBC) is the Controller of data for the purpose of the GDPR. The purpose of the processing is to record your consent to be contacted by the ATBC. I.   The Association for Tropical Biology & Conservation’s Website Privacy Policy

Thank you for visiting tropicalbiology.org and reviewing our privacy statement. The Association for Tropical Biology & Conservation (henceforth, “The ATBC”) does not collect personal information about visitors to our website unless you choose to provide that information to us.

When you visit our website, we automatically collect and store the IP address from which you access our website in order to make improvements. This information is stored and used in aggregate only and is not used to contact you personally.

This information may be used by our staff to detect and resolve website problems and to assist with customer support. ATBC collects information from its members (including names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses) for inclusion its membership database.  Access to this information is NOT available to anyone on ATBC’s website, including members, unless they have granted permission (e.g., ATBC Council members, committee chairs, etc). ATBC will not sell or rent your data to third parties, including companies that offer products and services for sale to ATBC’s members.

 

V.   User ID and Password

Certain areas of the site may require the use of a user ID, email address or password as an additional security measure that helps protect your information.

 

VI.   How You Can Control and Update Data About You

We want to be sure we keep only the most accurate and up-to-date information about you in our records. Whenever you believe that your contact information needs to be updated, you can update your profile or email us at communications@tropicalbio.org to correct or update your contact information.

You may choose at any time to remove your name, telephone and fax numbers, and postal and email addresses from the lists we use to send notices or updates and elect not to receive correspondence from us by emailing at communications@tropicalbio.org.

As ATBC’s membership, products, and services change from time to time, this Privacy Policy is expected to change as well. We reserve the right at any time and without notice to change this Privacy Policy simply by posting such changes on our website. Any such changes will be effective immediately upon posting. The date of the last revision will be indicated by the “Last Updated” date at the bottom of this page.
