This is a 9-month, tenure-track, 60% teaching, 40% research appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will develop an active and extramurally funded research program within the Department of Environmental Science and Technology at the University of Maryland focusing on wildlife ecology and management.
The successful candidate will develop strong collaborative relationships with state and federal agencies and non-governmental organizations. This position will require teaching 2 undergraduate and 1 graduate course per year, in topics including wildlife ecology, wildlife management, habitat management, spatial analyses, and/or other courses in the area of the candidate’s expertise.

An earned Ph.D. in Wildlife, Ecology, Natural Resources, or related field from an accredited college or university is required at the time of application.
The successful candidate will develop a nationally/internationally recognized and sustainable graduate research program based on a solid peer-reviewed publication record, and primarily funded through extramural grants and contracts. Applicants should demonstrate willingness to collaborate with other faculty and with external constituents in government agencies, NGOs, and the private sector. The successful candidate is expected to direct and serve on graduate student committees, serve on Department, College, and University committees, and actively participate in professional/scientific societies.
