The Office of Academic Programs is pleased to announce its call for proposals for the research awards to scholars from Latin American institutions (commonly known as “Senior Latin American Fellowship Program”).
Support would be awarded to outstanding researchers from Latin American institutions, in any field of specialization. The program is designed to stimulate collaboration with meritorious scholars. In general, fellows are expected to spend 3 or more months in Panama; proposals for shorter stays will be considered. Projects that have obtained or are seeking external funding are strongly encouraged. Proposals can be for specific research projects or other types of collaborative opportunities.
Application deadline: November 15, 2017
Awards: The maximum award is $20,000 per project, but proposals are encouraged for varied levels of support.
Eligibility: Applicants must be scholars from Latin American institutions.
Applications: Applications must include:
- A two page Research Plan or Proposal. The document must follow the proposal form and must have 1 inch margins, and use a font size similar to Times New Roman 12 points. Document can be single- or double-spaces and the page length includes Project Summary (250 words), Figures, Tables, and References.
- A two page CV.
- Project schedule.
- Project Budget with Justification. The funds requested may be used to cover airfare to Panama, research and/or living expenses while at STRI.
- Letter of endorsement from a STRI Staff Scientist.
